A few years ago, I was exactly where you are: trying to figure out how to turn years of patient care, shadowing, & volunteering into an essay that actually sounded like me. Now I'm a clinical year PA student with plans to go into emergency medicine, and over the last application cycle I reviewed 100+ personal statements from pre-PA applicants. Reading that many essays taught me something surprising. Everyone writes about different experiences, but many end up telling the exact same story.
